As all of us in the law enforcement community are aware, these are troubling times for us. In lieu of the cowardly attack on the two officers in New York, there have been other attempts made on fellow officers and officers family members in the last 24hrs. I have attached an Intel bulletin from DC Metropolitan police that was forwarded to my agency (Annapolis Police Department) early this afternoon. Early this morning individuals went around DC targeting vehicles with FOP tags, and then proceeded to open fire on any occupied vehicles with such tags when found. There were two separate incidents which occurred within close proximity times. Neither of the drivers of the vehicles was a member of Law enforcement, they were family members of LE, one of whom was shot. Please share this bulletin with all of your officers Major, especially those with FOP tags or any type of Law Enforcement identifiers on their personal vehicles.
