FYI; Sorry I have been a bit slack lately, if anyone was asking anything please ask again, it has been a pretty interesting week or so around here, I contracted Bells Palsy (Google it for info) @ 04.05 on Friday morning 04/07/2014, things have been a little erratic since then, at first I thought it was a stroke, has similar effects/results, I lost the muscle control all over the right side on my face, the first couple of days were really interesting, every time I had a drink it Dribbled out the left side of my mouth and poured out the right side, every time I tried to eat the food just dropped out of the right side of my mouth, lost all sense of taste in the whole of the right side of the mouth, loss of about 30% of taste from left side as well, Chillis no problem na, bring em on..lol can not use the Right eye (and it has always been my best one, bugga, feels like it has Sandy Blight all the time, even with lightly anesthetized lubrication in it every hour or so and has to remain closed and kept immobilised at all times because it dries out and can wreck the eyeball, good eh) The Right side of my face has drooped drastically, cant spit, Cant whistle, can not close or open right side lips or eyelids, Right side of nose drooping and leaning to2ward the left side of face, all together a magnificent new look, now I can go incognito eh? have to have speech therapy to talk properly again, Fortunately so far it has only affected the Facial Muscles and not all the nerves, only # 7 nerve apparently? there is still feeling over all the surface of the face, that has got to be good I guess? I have had it investigated by 2 different Doctors at CAAC, the A&E crew and Doctors @ ASH, a CAT Scan @ ASH, it showed up a small blood clot on the top Left side of the brain that could nave caused of a stroke, that needed another trip back to ASH for a a dye Scan, then seen the eye specialist Doctor @ ASH, several different manual tests etc. performed by assorted medical people, the eye Specialist Doctor has grounded me from driving so we are grounded in the Pop Top again, seems like it could be for a year at least, if ever, before this thing will come good..?? bit of a worry eh.. Looks like we are going to become permanent residents of AS after all??? no worries, I have always liked AS anyway! A BIG thank you to the excellent treatment administered by the Members and Staff of the Alice Springs Hospital during these worrying times, thanks guys n Gals. The eye Doctor has to treat the Bells Palsy eye problem first and then will get on to treating the other eye problem that was diagnosed and referred to an eye specialist in Adelaide last year, an appointment that had to be cancelled due to pressure put on us by the Standover tactics and false and misleading demands made of us by certain members of the Darwin Office of Territory Housing. Sorry again, I am getting a little side tracked eh, will try not to let it happen again. (UNLESS I start on the CARERS (HA) NT mob, I have sent a couple of there members several emails over the past couple of weeks while I been crook, only got one brief reply to the first one that didnt make much sense and complete silence since, me no Sabby...) I could go on with a lot more on this matter but too much for you to read na..lol I am going for more assessment with my Bells Palsy Case Manager tomorrow and back to the eye Specialist on Thursday, will know more after that, been an interesting few days and a steep learning curve to say the least but dont worry, I am not going anywhere for a long time yet, I have far too many people out there to upset yet...lol I would also like to show appreciation to the following People, excellent friends all, for there unwavering support and offers of help during our recent medical problems, BIG THANK YOUs to Heather Burge, Victor Burge, Heidi Cutrale, Liz Martin and the Staff at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame Alice Springs NT Au., I wouldnt be coping without you Guys n Gals. And to all my faithful friends on FaceBook and elsewhere, dont worry, I will be OK, for a long time yet. PS; and no, the pics are not Photoshopped.. Too busy learning how to Eat, Drink, and be Merry all over again ATM, sorry, Smiles are out of the question just now. I cant even spit in your eye now either, BUGGA again eh? LMAO.. AND dont even go to where the loss of Stereo vision leaves one! doors, steps and toilet seats get too far away..BUGGA. An upside..or 2, it got rid of the wrinkles from the Right side forehead.. YAY! Cant see the droopy mouth and Rons food because of the beard, who said beards were no good eh??
