Faaaar out what a way to start the year off. This month has been amazing... First 10 days in Golden Bay catching up with my family and a few mates, 5 days in Richmond/Nelson catching up with some of my favourite people who I havent seen in a year - two for a few - where I was shouted two nights out to dinner and a coffee date plus a trip to Kaiteriteri and then Split Apple Rock for the first time, an amazing time back in Christchurch catching up with more family and my best neighbour matey pal, a cute as send off at the airport, a pick up from Auckland airport by one two of my closest mates, a late night hang at the flat at Laids, and an epic weekend at Parachute with a paid-for ticket (thanks to the all-incredible Excel School of Performing Arts) where I got to see some of the sickest artists and bands perform live right in front of my own eyes such as Halfnoise, Ascend The Hill, Jireh, Ginny Blackmore, Kye Kye (amazing. just lie on the floor and soak it in), Gungor (I literally was on the brink of tears. they were welling up I kid you not), Tigertown (ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE), a heap of others including dance crews and spoken word artists and on top of all of that, Stan Walker leading worship in the pouring rain last night was just insane. Got some amazing as God time in with the team and a few worship sets and hangouts of our own which was mean! Loved meeting new people and making new friends and catching some amazing raw talent at the Excel Blackboard Sessions and finally getting to hang out with my Excel family I havent seen all summer... and now after sleeping the whole way home (after only getting around 3 hours sleep last night) I can happily say that I cannot wait to see what else God has in store for me and my team this year. Tour has effectively begun and Im pumped for rehearsals to start in a week! This is without a doubt the best kick-starter January Ive ever had.
