Or how about my friends who want to buy their first home? OR how about my friends who want to go back to school but are unable to find the funds. At my office, we provide an Individual Development Account that is designed to assist individuals in achieving self-sufficiency through financial literacy and asset generation. For every dollar you save, up to $300 a year, the State will match it with three dollars. Basically, you save $300, the State matches you with $900, totaling a combined savings of $1200. It is a four year program, but you can fast track it in two years. I think its a great program, and I had to share with all of my friends.
