Facebook announced theyll be changing the Newsfeed placement for biz pages (again!) starting January 2015. Short explanation of this: now more than ever the posts you publish on FB need to be educational, helpful, resourceful, add value, entertain. Try to avoid promotional posts, keep them as an ad versus an organic post. What are your thoughts on this? Heres more info and my thoughts, but I feel like its a little too early to know exactly how this will play out for business pages. More info: -Posts on your page that are promotional (buy this, click to buy, come in this weekend, etc.) will be shown less. -Posts that have duplicate content as a Facebook ad (ex: you created a website ad and the copy is similar to a post you published on your page) will be shown less. -Posts that are about a contest or giveaway that doesnt relate to the business, will be shown less (tough to give an example here as the details of this havent been fully hashed out, but Im assuming it will be something like a contest that says, Like this post to be entered to win a restaurant giftcard or tell us your new year resolution to enter to win a gift certificate to our store but if normal resolutions like lose weight, make more money, eat healthier, etc., dont match the products you sell (for example youre a pet store), you might get punished by FB for posting this type of contest). If deals/specials are seen less now, that could be frustrating to the person who liked AND the business page. And Im wondering if theyll consider new product arrivals as a promotional post. They are, but that is important info to fans, in my opinion.
