Facebook showed me these pictures from December 27th 2012- (2 years ago.) This is a picture of Maddie inpatient at the hospital getting her I dont know what cycle of chemo but I do know we stayed for a week and it was awful, she got so sick from those inpatient chemos. How much I hate cancer and what she has endured and continues to endure. This clinical trial she has been on for 17 months , we get stay home and give everything to her by mouth every night. Its just been so much easier on her. I remember when we would get to floor 9 to her room she would literally scream and cry and try to run away. I would have to literally pick her up :( it was just awful!! She knew what was going to happen , she just knew!!! August 21st 2012 was the day Maddie relapsed just after 9 months ... I remember getting the phone call , I was 7.5 months prego with Avah and we had to bring her in right away for a port placement. Then when it healed we started her 1st dose of chemo outpatient on September 4th her 2nd birthday:( it was awful she got so sick even with the outpatient chemo she would get every week. She was on (temodar) and another one she would get at clinic. Temodar we would give at home at first everyday for 5 days it was 7ml of liquid . She did well at first but then would throw it up , so we had to go into clinic everyday for 5 days. They would put a nose tube in and put the chemo in and then pull the tube out and we did that every week ,it was awful. Then after 2 months of outpatient chemo 8 cycles her tumors were growing so we stopped that and tried another protocol and it wasnt working either so that is what led us to doing inpatient chemo every 2-3 weeks (methotrexate and vincristine) she got so sick :( It was just horrible. Then unfortunately we did that for 10 months and it wasnt working either so she had another tumor removal September 11, 2013. Then the end of September she started the clinical trial and has been on it every since ( 17 months later) She continues to show us how strong and brave she is!! She is my hero!!
