Kurosawa told tales of medieval Japan and stories of warriors and samurai. He depicted tales of struggles occurring both on the battlegrounds of World War II and in the boardrooms of the companies that thrived in the countrys post-War period. Kurosawas thrilling films have historical sweep, are immaculately made, poetical, philosophical and, as immersive as they are in Japanese history, also draw from Western literature. Kudos for Kurosawa, one of the greatest film makers of all time.
