Fact Sheet It is strongly suggested that before making any mindset about the Media Mash by unfiltered communication, the views of those should be taken who were involved and who has the understanding of such activities. Like if one is a pilot and one deals in jets, he/she should not be judged by Formula One racers. Media Mash was a very good initiative. No one has ever arranged an Oscar Award Ceremony in KPK. Therefore, this event should not be judged on superficial criteria. It should be seen as a positive initiative and not a perfect execution. Media Mash’13 was postponed not once but twice, first because of elections, and the second time because of examinations. It became almost impossible to pull all things together. The team of Literary Society made it happen even then. Their efforts are commendable. It was 47 Centigrade that day. Everyone in the Literary Society was running from pillar to pole to organize the event. At the end of the day, they went home with empty hands. Many of us went empty stomachs even as we were looking into matters. As host, the team was caring others. They should not be discouraged in anyway. A total of 18 universities sent their entries from all over Pakistan. Their presence in the event was not necessary, their entries were. We received more than 80 entries. No one got any personal gain through Media Mash ’13. We did a personal loss on the contrary, which is very normal in such activities. The objective was to do something new inside the campus. The event went peaceful and in controlled manner. Even though some 300 crowd was sitting. We did not have a major issue. We do understand that there were short comings in the Media Mash, but why there is this much discouragement pointed towards us? Nothing is perfect in its birth phase. It takes time to move towards perfection. It was first of its kind in im|sciences and our gutsy attempt deserves an ovation rather than condemnation. Literary Society does not believe in confrontation with anyone. We believe in struggle and respect. We appreciate and do not comment negatively when other societies and student groups organize an event of any nature and caliber. The last point to which we would really request your attention is that’ we thought, we could do a thing or two regarding student’ activities knowing that it will take a lot of our time. In the same time, we could earn or enjoy easily. We have spent weekends while travelling with the teams, and working with them a dozen of time. When many of us go chill out after 04:30, the LS team work to participate in an activity to enhance the image of the institute. We just do it for a positive cause. It is always a good idea to do something there, where some reform is needed rather than ranting venomously on the Facebook and commenting carelessly. We can go on and on in regard to the Media Mash but would want to sum-up here. Anything new cannot be digested that easily and if someone really worries about standards, please; do mind helping us. It was as start, the best is yet to be, Abhi hay Justuju baqi, Abhi hay arzu baqi !
