Facts! Facts!! Facts!!! Over the week, the number one gentleman(President John Dramani Mahama) of the land made a statement in clear terms and without a shred of fear,I want to submit that he made the right statement. The president made it clear that his government has now pulled the first gear and that Ghanaians should exercise patience because he is on the verge of pulling the second, third, fourth and fifth gears accordingly. However, some loud mouthed and misguided elements are poohpoohing that state and castigating him. What else could any president have said apart from the presidents innocent and innocuous statement? This blatant enterprise of ignore the message and kill the messenger must be condemned with alacrity. It is exceedingly shocking that these neocolonial and misguided elements would not learn from the high souring democratic dispensation that we are currently in. These misguided elements, out of naivety, want us to believe that the president and the NDC government are collapsing the economy. I want to put on record without an exiguous of ambiguity that they have missed the point. I want to make my submission dispassionately and say it as it is,without a modicum of equivocation. Assuming admitting that the economy is collapsing, then it is the NPP that has caused it and I will not downplay it. Indeed, the last time I checked, basically, elections have only two possible outcomes(win or lose). However, the other outcome which is not likely is rerun. How could we have had a political party that would go to court after a clear and blatant electoral loss? Indeed,it is constitutional to seek redress in the court. However,I do know that you seek redress where/when you have genuine and clear evidence that would warrant the overturn of the outcome. The NPP knew clearly that they had know genuine evidence which would overturn the outcome of the just ended presidential election but as part of their lack of respect for democracy, they resorted to hold the nation at ransom by going to the SC with their waste-of-time case. Even going to the court was an afterthought because they had already done their vandalism and lynching and maiming escapade. Because of that uncorroborated court manouevre that travelled for 8 months; 1. Government machineries were in a stand still. 2. There were massive systems collapse. 3. There were drastic decline in the productivity sectors. 4. Output of works were very low. 5. Financial losses were incalculable. 6. Withdrawal of investments by investors were enormous. Nobody would want to invest in any war zone area as the Danquah-Busia elements projected this country as one on a war front. The effects of these investments withdrawals are devastating. Again, the economy is collapsing because of what former President Kuffour and his government did before exiting office. Former Presisent Kuffour signed an agreement that only 13 % of our oil revenue should come to Ghana. Out of this 13 %, 3 % representing 300 million dollars is going into the accounts of a group called EO group which was vitiated by illegalities by he Former President Kuffour et al and this gargantuan amount of money is to be paid for 10 years and we have only paid for 6 years remaining 4 years. So in the final analysis, only 10 % is coming to Ghana. Who can contest the fact that this perpetration of illegalities is contributing to the collapse of the economy ? Again, former president Kuffour formulated a policy(SSSS) and saw its huge effects, ramifications and repercussions, decided not to implement the Single Spine pay policy. As wicked and bad person as former president Kuffour was, when it became very apparent that he was leaving office,as part of his sabotage,he signed the implementation of the Single Spine pay policy which he didnt implement because of its ramifications on the economy to be implemented by the NDC government. Nobody can dispute the fact that the SSSS is a contributing factor. Statistics show that there are 700,000 employees on the government payroll and because of the SSSS,70 % of Ghanas total revenue is used to pay these 700,000 employees of which I Osumanu am among, leaving only 30 % for projects and infrastructure developments. Again, government is spending a lot of money on accommodations for state officials because the NPP managed to sell 720 bungalows between 2008 and 2010. These bungalows include the one Jake Obetsebi Lamptey fraudulently bought. Knowing all these facts, what moral rights do these Danquah-Busia elements have to question the health of the economy? I can say it locus classicus without a whimper of fear that the NPP is just engaging in a smearing campaign to tarnish the image of government. However,as long as some of us are alive and have the facts and figures, their shenanigans and mischieves cannot stand the test of time and scrutiny. In the final analysis,if today, the NPPs are jumping over themselves and averring and pontificating that the economy is collapsing, then they are the causative agents. No doubt,no debate!!!
