I received some great insight from a friend :) after that post and it got me to thinking about one of my favorite worship songs: You Are My Shield - Hillsong I will bless the Lord forever, And I will trust Him at all times. Back in biblical times, shields had the family crest displayed on them. With God as our Shield, His name is displayed - we are His own - and He will be our protector and defender. He is a very present Shield. Do we live in such a way that displays God is our Shield? Do we know and believe God as our Strength? We are told in scripture that the same spirit (the same power) that raised Christ from the dead, dwells in us. In our very weakness, Christs power is manifested and does what we cannot do ourselves. He is a very present strength. Do we live in such a way that displays God is our Strength? Do we know and believe God as our Portion? As we live out our faith journey, more of God must be seen in our lives and less of our selfish ways. God Himself is enough to fill every void and every need. He is a very present Portion. Do we live in such a way that displays God is our Portion? Do we know and believe God as our Deliverer? Gods grace and compassion are new every day. He is able to make a way for us when there seems to be no way. He will be faithful to deliver us through whatever we may be facing. He is a very present Deliverer. Do we live in such a way that displays God is our Deliverer? Do we know and believe God as our Shelter and Strong Tower? When all hope seems lost, when we feel all alone, when we cant see the light at the end of the tunnel, God comes to us and wraps us in His love. In His presence is where we feel safe and at peace. He is a very present Shelter and Strong Tower. Do we live in such a way that displays God is our Shelter and Strong Tower? May you live in such a way that trusts in the character of God!
