Fall Fest is coming The Deerfield Farmer’s Market will celebrate the season with a “Fall Fest” on Saturday, Sept. 21. There will be apples for sale from the Deerfield Greenhouse, an apple pie baking contest and kids’ apple games. To enter an apple pie in the contest, bring it to the Deerfield Grocery Co-op’s farmer’s market booth at 8 a.m. There is no fee to enter the contest and preregistration is not required. After the pies are judged, slices will be sold to raise funds for future promotion of the farmer’s market. The farmer’s market runs through Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon on South Main Street, between Deerfield Lutheran Church and Mobile. The 2013 market is co-sponsored by the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce and the Deerfield Grocery Co-op. Judges are still needed for apple pie baking contest.
