Fall News from Councilwoman Madeline Scarniench: Hi everyone Just a few things to share before the server goes down again. First off as we have been doing for the last few years the city invites snowplowers to submit proposals for the up-coming season. This year we had only 2 vendors willing to work at a set price. Keep in mind the city is not endorsing one over the other it is just informational only. Please keep in mind you must make the call and sign an individual contract with the vendor. Also keep in mind that there has to be 3 inches or more before they come out to plow. The 2 vendors are as follows: Brown Landscaping, Eric Brown owner. Erics number is 216-374-1955. His prices are $200 for one plow a day for the season. If you want 2 plows a day the cost would be $300. Individual plows would be $25. If you are interested in having your sidewalk done that would be $150. for the season. The second vendor is Platia landscaping & Snowplowing, Charlie Platia owner. His number is 440-278-0458. His prices are $139. for one plow per day. If you want 2 per day it is $209. Individual plows are $25. and if you want the sidewalk done it would be $109 for the season. Euclid Youth Hockey presents Try Hockey for Free Event. On November 2nd EYHA will be hosting their annual try Hockey for Free event from 11:30 -12:30 at CE Orr Arena. This is your chance to see if your youngsters age 3 to 10 might be interested in the sport of hockey. This program is sponsored by USA Hockey; the National Hockey League; and NHL member clubs. There are 500 locations around the country that will be offering the kids this unique opportunity. To register go to TryHockeyforFree or contact Dave Rowell our local EYHA President at 216-496-0811. The program is open to both boys and girls. Have you heard about the Euclid Public Library Little Library program. Outside of our 4 elementary builds you will find the little library. All you have to do is drive up and pick out a book. When you are done either return it or give it to a friend to read and return. There is a bookmark with every book for you to write something special. Do you have a fvorite book you would like to share just add it to the library. For more information you can call the Library at 216-261-15300. If you havent had a chance to stop into the Library now that the renovations have been complete please stop in. The new childrens library is incredible and there are more computer stations along with many other new amenities. I know it is cold outside but you have to stop by the new Yogurt City in the Shore Center Shopping Center. the grand opening was this past Wednesday and there was free yogurt for all that day. Pick your flavor then go up to the bar and add anything you can think of to make it your own special sundae. It was decided by a 6-3 vote on Monday to extend the trash contract out until 2019. Once everything is in place you will be receiving your new trash and recycle containers. Because this is an automated system you must use the provided containers. We should have them by the end of the year. The city will be working on an educational piece to explain the program and also to educate you on why recycling is important. Dont forget the last shred day for the year will be November 16 from 9 to 12 behind city hall. Until next time Madeline
