Fall Travels II Fall. If there is any time of the year that I enjoy being a photographer then Fall is certainly it. For me, it is a magical experience. The air gets cooler and the heat of summer starts to disappear, the colors change showing off their glory and many photographers I feel look past the beauty and colors of the lower elevations here in Colorado thinking that since all the foliage is gone in the mountains, their season has ended. Truthfully, I think some of the most beautiful color lies in those lower elevations with massive Oak, Willows and other trees coming alive with some of the spectacular coats of colors around. Photographed at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge this scene caught me as the light just after sunrise painted the landscape in a gorgeous glow. I loved the leading lines and the contrast against the blue sky this had so I had to naturally photograph it. To do so I used a Sony a65, a Fotodiox Inc.CPL and a Grad ND and photographed it in HDR to hold back the highlights some more.
