Fall leaf collection continues! • AREA C – final collection in progress • AREA D – prepare for collection On Wednesday, November 19, crews are working FINAL collection in AREA C – Crews will work from Drake towards Jefferson. If time permits, crews will begin collecting in AREA D. When temperatures are above freezing, street sweepers will come through to clean up the streets. Residents with leaves remaining after this final collection, should place them into compost bags or in yard waste bins on their scheduled weekly refuse collection day. No leaves are allowed in the street once you have received FINAL collection. Because there are typically fewer leaves to collect during this FINAL collection round, residents should be prepared to see crews in their neighborhoods more quickly than they did in the first round of collection. Please have leaves out, ready for collection. Residents are reminded to leave at least one foot of gutter space between leaf piles and the curb to allow water to drain to catch basins. Do not mix brush or refuse in leaf piles. Please avoid parking cars on streets where crews are working. No stickers are required on paper compost bags or yard waste bins for the remainder of the fall leaf collection season. Yard waste is collected on your weekly refuse day. Freezing temperatures may cause yard bin contents to freeze, not allowing the bins to empty completely. Keeping bins in the garage until your collection day will help prevent this problem.
