Fallen and original. GENERAL MEANING OF THE TERM FALLEN-FALL DOWN” and “ORIGINAL. What does it say Srila Prabhupada and all the acaryas and shastras about the soul ORIGINAL POSITION? How many times these words are used ?. Countless times. But what is the meaning of the term original position,”ORIGINAL” and “POSITION”? We really understand what is meant by these words? What are the messages contained within these words original position? Do we really understand the meaning of the following sentences from Srimad-Bhagavatam? SB 4.28.53 TRANSLATION “The brāhmaṇa continued: Unfortunately, -you gave up My company and accepted a position as enjoyer of this material world. Purport By misusing his independence, -the living entity FALLS DOWN FROM the service of the Lord and -TAKES A POSITION in this material world as an enjoyer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -GENERAL MEANING OF THE TERM “FALL”: The first,initial, definition is based on the experience of the physical phenomenon of the gravity law. -fall means to drop or come down freely under the influence of gravity. -Under the influence of the law of gravity,by the force of gravity attraction, an object tends or is forced to fall,to drop or come down freely toward the center of the earth. An object is forced to go down,to descend, .FROM a higher level TO a lower level, it tends to move . FROM a higher altitude at a lower height, . FROM top TO bottom, . FROM higher TO lower, . FROM high TO low(down). IN ESSENCE,IN SHORT: .something situated in a higher or superior altitude,level or position, .move,change, go, to a lower or inferior altitude,level or position. .Something located in a position higher or upper altitude .moves, changes, goes, to a new,different, lower position or lower altitude. That is the essential meaning of fall or fall down,FALL-DOWN: -TO MOVE .FROM a original,previous,former,superior,higher position .TO a later,new,different,inferior or lower position. THIS INVOLVES to lose a original,previous position and to adquire a new,different, position. SUPERIOR means higher or upper altitude and also means in general better,higher position. INFERIOR means lower altitude and also means in general less,worse or lower position. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And from this definition it is easy TO UNDERSTAND THE MANY PARTICULAR VARIETIES OF APPLICATIONS OF THIS TERM IN MANY FIELDS OF LIFE. -FROM THIS ESSENTIAL DEFINITION WE APPLY THE GENERAL MEANING OF THE TERM “FALL” to every entity, whatever entity,that is going or moving .FROM a former,previous,original and higher,superior,better,best, position .TO a later, lower,inferior,worse,position. Something is moving .FROM a higher level .TO a lower level: economy,temperatures,estadistics, reputation or honour, financial value, prices,demand,chastity,consciousness,.............. Thats the difference between DECREASE,INCREASE,FALL,RISE,ELEVATION,DEGRADATION..ETC. Ordinary or common examples: .She suffered a bad fall, while horseriding. .The fall of nuts from the tree makes a loud sound. .The air pressure is falling. .I fell off the ladder yesterday. All of these examples refer to a change in position of something or someone from an original,previous, position, elevated or higher, to a new and different position below,lower, of less altitude. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE MEANING OF “FALL”,”FALL DOWN ON THE SPIRITUAL FIELD: The direct practical application on the Krsna consciousness philosophy of the general meaning to fall is as follow. The original,previous,initial,former,superior,higher position is : “MY COMPANY. THE SERVICE OF THE LORD.” 2.TO a new,different,inferior or lower position. THIS INVOLVES to lose a original,previous position and to adquire a new,different, position.A change of position. -“you GAVE UP My company ” “and -ACCEPTED A POSITION AS ENJOYER OF THIS MATERIAL WORLD. -“TAKES A POSITION IN THIS MATERIAL WORLD AS AN ENJOYER.” 1.THE COMPANY OF THE LORD,”MY COMPANY”, “THE SERVICE OF THE LORD” is the ORIGINAL,former,initial,previous, position FROM where the living entity falls down. -“the living entity falls down FROM THE SERVICE OF THE LORD.” “ THE SERVICE OF THE LORD”,that is the superior position where the living entity was before the change of position,fall-down,to a inferior,lower position. That is the ORIGINAL POSITION OF THE LIVING ENTITY. 2.After that,then, -”By misusing his independence”,THE CAUSE FOR THE CHANGE OF POSITION, -the living entity LOSE,leaves,abandon,this position,the service of the Lord, and -move TO a inferior,lower,worse position, “you GAVE UP My company ” and -ACCEPTED A POSITION AS ENJOYER OF THIS MATERIAL WORLD. -“TAKES A POSITION IN THIS MATERIAL WORLD AS AN ENJOYER.” That is the meaning of the term “fall”,”fall down”,Srila Prabhupada used thousands of times,a change of position,FROM A PREVIOUS OR ORIGINAL POSITION,A HIGHER OR BETTER POSITION,TO A NEW AND DIFFERENT WORSE OR LOWER POSITION. It means to move: 1-FROM a higher,superior,original,starting position, WHERE WE WERE BEFORE,THE ORIGINAL POSITION,THE NON FALLEN CONDITION. 2-TO a inferior and lower position, WHERE WE ARE NOW,THE FALLEN CONDITION. OUR ORIGINAL POSITION means that position, condition, or state that we had, or where we were, before the movement of change occur, the fall, before the change of position from best to worst, highest to lowest. Where an object was before falling ?.. What was its original or previous position before falling?. There is a movement of an object, entity,.. etc,FROM an initial or original position, the non fallen condition, TO a new and different position, the fallen condition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANOTHER EXAMPLE: “Gods name is Acyuta. He never falls down. But jiva-bhuta, jiva, living entities, they are cyuta. They falls down FROM the spiritual platform TO the material platform.” God Is God--Dog Is Dog-74/08/11 Vrndavana (Janmastami), Bhagavad-gita 7.5 NOTE: FALLS DOWN means a movement,a move,a change.Means to move from a higher ORIGINAL position,where we were before the change occurs,TO a lower position,where we are now. Here it is said:”FROM the spiritual platform TO the material platform.”- THEREFORE OUR ORIGINAL PREVIOUS POSITION, where we were, was ON THE SPIRITUAL PLATFORM. Spiritual platform means being engaged in the devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead,in THE SERVICE OF THE LORD,IN MY COMPANY. Then ,after,FROM this spiritual platform we move TO the material platform. This moving FROM a higher position,spiritual platform,TO a lower position,material platform,means fall down. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANOTHER EXAMPLE: BG Introduction. Therefore the Lord descends TO RECLAIM all of these FALLEN, CONDITIONED souls, TO CALL THEM BACK TO the sanātana eternal sky so that the sanātana living entities MAY REGAIN THEIR ETERNAL SANATANA POSITIONS IN ETERNAL ASSOCIATION WITH THE LORD. --------------------- NOTE: -“TO RECLAIM all of these FALLEN, CONDITIONED souls” = “TO CALL THEM BACK TO the sanātana eternal sky.” TO RECLAIM = TO CALL THEM BACK. “BACK TO the sanātana eternal sky”: “BACK TO” means to go to a place where we were before. That means: -the sanātana eternal sky = original ,former,initial,previous position. -“FALLEN, CONDITIONED souls” means the souls are now in a new,different,inferior,worse,position. FALLEN implies the existence of a previous or original position before this new position result of the fall. “THE NON FALLEN CONDITION” refers to that position or state where we were,where something or someone was before the fall occur “THE FALLEN CONDITION” refers to that position obtained result of the fall.It refers to the new and different position obtained after the fall. *It is said on this verse: so that the sanātana living entities -REGAIN THEIR ETERNAL SANATANA POSITIONS IN ETERNAL ASSOCIATION WITH THE LORD. “Regain” means recovering the original,starting position,we lost because of the fall. Regain means changing again, but now the reverse process, to move from the lower TO THE ORIGINAL upper position (elevation). Regain,recover, means to move again but now to our original position,that we lost. That is the meaning of going back,back to... . Retrieve,recover, the previous original position we had before the change occurred. And Srila Prabhupada says that our previous,ORIGINAL,eternal sanatana position, prior to becoming conditioned souls, was IN THE SANATANA ETERNAL SKY”,IN ETERNAL ASSCIATION WITH THE LORD.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANOTHER EXAMPLE: CC Antya 20.33 “tomāra nitya-dāsa mui, tomā pāsariyā paḍiyāchoṅ bhavārṇave māyā-baddha hañā Translation: 1-“I am Your eternal servant, (ORIGINAL SUPERIOR POSITION OF THE SOUL) -but I FORGOT YOUR LORDSHIP. 2-Now I have FALLEN into the ocean of nescience and have been conditioned by the external energy. (LATER, NEW,DIFFERENT,LOWER POSITION OF THE SOUL.)
