Familiarity is often the breeding bed for contempt. Many of us can hold our tongues well with strangers, or people we imagine were impressing. The reality is when we are impatient with those closest to us, we can forget about being patient with others.. because sooner or later our real nature will show up.The hardest of personalities that we have been patient with make no real impression on God, when He is well aware of all of our ways.. We should work on ourselves to never lose our patience with those closest to us, for they are like trees that are deeply rooted.. compared to the stranger we meet who like a leaf can blow off into the wind never to be found again.
