Family Circle featured a SS Family in their latest issue. YAY! Until it hit the stands. Now lifelong members are up in arms over the coverage. It seems Family Circle is meant to cover REAL families. And, by putting a Gay family on there, it sends the wrong message. One of the quoted tweets indicates that only 5% of the population is gay. That is a complete inaccuracy in an attempt to marginalize us. The Smithsonian did a study and found the number to be just over 20%. I hope Family Circle doesnt crumple under the weight of the detractors and they keep the Column they started called Modern Life. We hope that everything we publish in Family Circle is inspiring, informative, thought provoking or motivating in one way or another, she added. Our goal is to be relevant, honest and realistic.
