Family ID #228 - Apple Valley Hi my name is XXXXX and Im not a person who usually likes to ask for help but I know that without help I am unable to make this happen for my family. We are a family of 4 who has had a really tough year and are really struggling. I am suffering from depression and anxiety after a miscarriage back in February and we are also waiting for my son to get his evaluation on the 8th we are suspecting something like ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) but are not sure at this time it has been putting a lot of stress on myself and my fiance. We are hoping for answers soon and some ways we can help him. I have a 3 year old daughter and a 6 year old son which is why I am reaching out for help I am incredibly grateful that we will be receiving some used toys for Christmas, but after telling my son we are unable to spend Christmas with grandma, who lives in Rapid City South Dakota he told me Santa can keep his toys if we can go see grandma XXXXXX. My heart broke into a million pieces... I told him we just cant afford it right now and he said its ok mom and gave me his $.94. I told him that we will need more than that but I will try. XXXXXX has an incredibly strong connection with his grandma XXXXXX and because of the distance we dont get to see them often. It has been close to a year since we saw her last and that was due to medical reasons (she has been diagnosed with hepatitis c and she is also struggling with other health problems). My fiance has been working overtime to try and pay rent and put food on the table and we just cant afford it. I am reaching out for someone who can help with money or gift cards for gas and even something to eat on the 8 hour drive. We have a vehicle to get there, but no money to do so. We are hoping to leave by December 20th so we need help as soon as possible. I know this is a little bit of an unusual request but it would mean the world to my son and our entire family! We are thinking we will need somewhere around $200.00 for gas and some extra for food. Anything will help... please help get my family together for Christmas! it would mean everything for our entire family. Thank you for taking the time to read this and Happy Holidays.
