Family and Friends: Denise will be traveling to Atlanta this week to walk with her family in AFSPs Out of the Darkness Community Walk and I am helping her solicit donations to this cause. She will be walking in memory of our nephew Brendan Miller who, after quietly suffering emotionally throughout his life decided five years ago to end his life. Denise will be walking again as Team Brendan with our family, Brendans family and many friends and supporters of our loss and the loss of thousands of people, young and old, who decide each year to suffer no more. Team Brendans participation in the walk will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We would appreciate your support toward this worthwhile cause. The AFSP supports research, outreach and preventative support for those suffering from depression and associated mental illnesses that may lead to suicide. In addition, through outreach, organizational and financial support they are instrumental in sponsoring the healing process of family and friends that have been effected by terrible loss. Help us bring this issue and sufferers of mental illness out of the darkness. Donating online is safe and easy and all donations are 100% tax deductible. To make an online donation please go to afsp.donordrive/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=2599 and enter my name in the Fundraiser Search box in the upper right hand corner of the page. Once you see my name, click on the Donate Now button. The suicide of a family member or a friend effects everyone in a profound way. Some, like the victim, walk into darkness, others, like Addison, rise up from this painful experience. forgirls.girlscouts.org/girl-scouts-2013-national-young-women-of-distinction-addison/ Together we can alleviate the heartache of another loss and help save lives.
