Family and friends UNITE and REJOICE!!! After nine long months of living with my parents, my brother and his family have finally moved out and will be spending their first night in their new home after a fire destroyed their previous home and most of their belongings. Even though this whole experience has been stressful for all of them, there are many silver linings, most especially the fact that my kids have spent more time with their cousins in the past nine months than they probably have over the course of the past 10 years. Personally, I would like to send my thanks out to all of our friends, family, neighbors, etc...who helped any one of us out in some way, shape or form this year, especially my fantastic mother-in-law Joanne (or Grandma Joanne as my brothers daughter Bella now calls her) for all the times she has taken my kids (and sometimes my brothers kids) so that I could be of help to my brothers family. And last but not least, my niece Savannahs hammer has been safely returned to the window sill in her new room. A few years ago, Savannah had insisted on having a hammer in her room because if there was ever a fire and she could not get out of her bedroom door and was not strong enough to open the window, she could use the hammer to break the window. At the time, we all chuckled about how silly that seemed. Looking back now, it seems that perhaps we need to take her more seriously. Who knew??? To Ronnie, Heather Treinen, Spencer, Savannah and Bella, enjoy your first night in your new home. We love you!
