Family life education should be centered in the home, supported by the church, and grounded in both biblical theology and strong intimate relationships with God and others. This means that guiding, training, and educating the next generations spiritual lives is primarily the responsibility of parents in the home. When a couple is blessed by God with a child, their covenant task is to train that job to be in relationship with God in order to fulfill the purpose for which he or she was created. This is not an easy task. What are you doing to educate your children, Theologically, in training them up in the way that they should go? Dropping children off at church, not going to church at all or when its only convenient for our schedules, and treating our family horrible at home then pretending all is well at church, is not the proper way to accomplish raising a Godly family. When parents drop off children at church and go back home it sends a mixed message to that child and saying it is okay to live one way and the church and one way in the world, Church and Jesus is not important and of any priority to me. Sadly, this is one of the top reasons why children are leaving the church after and in some cases during high school. The old saying is true, a family that prays together, stays together.
