Fan Q ~ Please post: I just found out today that my 2 year old daughter has to have glasses. Her prescription is +7 because her eyes are so bad. They said her lenses with be very thick like coke bottle glasses is what the receptionist said. My husband and I are so upset. They said she will never outgrow it and they will never be corrected, she will have thick lenses her whole life unless she gets contacts or has eye surgery. They suggested we get rubber frames since she is so young so they dont get broken. My husband doesnt like the way they look and thinks we should just get plastic. I dont know what to do. I cant even come to term with the fact she has to have glasses so young, forever, and so thick with such a high prescription. I know it could be worse and we are lucky she is healthy otherwise but its still hard. I just want to cry and i cant help feeling like its my fault somehow. Like maybe i should have ate better when i was pregnant or maybe it was because i missed some of my prenatal vitamins. We got 4 opinions and they ask said she needs them but today was the Appt that we found out her prescription and that it cant be corrected. Anyone have a young child with glasses? Any advice? ~Kelly~
