Fantastic evening last night at Lovatos Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!! It was the JR Warriors first night back on the mats since the American Grappling Federation Oklahoma BJJ State Championships tournament this past weekend where they put on an excellent performance, and it was great to see such a huge class back on the mats ready to work!! They have testing coming up this Saturday, so after a few quick drills to help them with things I saw at the tournament, Coach Austin Adkins and I spent the rest of the time taking questions the rest of the time to make sure everybody is as prepared as possible. Everyone is looking awesome, and I know they are going to put on a great performance. Congrats to Mark Boyd and Brody Duff for being the students of the night!! Then I went right into teaching the Women’s Only BJJ class, and it was out biggest and best one yet!! That class has really started to grow, and we had a great time last night!! After warm-up and a couple of drills, I got right into technique. Last night, we looked at escaping side control, beginning with out curriculum escapes, and then I showed a few other techniques to help escape and a few other ways to escape that will often happen. Everyone was looking great, and I really hope that everyone enjoyed the class and has an easier time escaping the side control now.
