Fantastic night all to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The company, whose brands include Premier Inn, Beefeater Grill, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Taybarns, has decided to select the hospital charity as its long term adopted charity of choice. The decision was made through a team member vote, which took place last month. Great Ormond Street Hospital is in the process of redeveloping and replacing some of its oldest clinical buildings so that families can benefit from world class care in 21st century facilities and have more space to be together at the bedside. Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants is hoping to raise a significant sum of money that will support the hospital in achieving these aspirations. Fundraising activities are likely to include employee fundraising, sales promotions and customer engagement initiatives. Patrick Dempsey, Managing Director of Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: “We’re delighted to be embarking on a new multi-million pound charity partnership with such an important charity. I was personally moved by the hard work and dedication of staff at the hospital during a recent visit and am looking forward to the money we raise over the next few years helping the hospital to treat more sick children from all over the UK in improved facilities.” Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive of Great Ormond Street Hospital, welcomed the news about Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants coming on board. She said: “It’s absolutely fantastic that the team at Whitbread have chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, and in doing so, to help us transform the lives of sick children from all over the UK. Such a huge programme of redevelopment would be simply unachievable without the kindness and generosity of individual supporters and corporate partners such as Whitbread.” Previously Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants supported WaterAid and, with the help of team members, suppliers and customers, raised £1.3 million for the charity.
