Fantastic review of April the Red Goldfish by Lorna Bradbury, writing in the Telegraph: Picture books in Britain can be conservative, especially when you compare them with what is produced on the Continent. So we are fortunate to have Phoenix Yard, which has previously brought us French classics such as New York in Pyjamarama. Marjolaine Leray follows up her Little Red Hood with April the Red Goldfish, an expressively drawn, very red story about a gloomy goldfish, with some fine jokes. Of course, rendering those fine jokes in English is down to the work of translator, Sarah Ardizzone.
