Fantastic work SPCA team :) After a harrowing ordeal, a male black and tan German Shepherd cross dog found a wonderful home when he was adopted from our SPCA in early September. Late in August, Petros our Inspector received a call about a dog down a storm water hole. He was told the dog appeared uninjured, had been fed by the community but that it needed rescuing. Petros and Clement headed out to the area and found a black and tan German Shepherd cross about 2m down in a storm water drain. Petros had to squeeze himself into the drain to rescue the dog. The dog was understandably very thirsty and after assessing him for any significant injuries, Petros and Clement brought him back to the SPCA. He was re-checked by our vet, vaccinated and dewormed and placed in our kennels from where he was adopted. We have a wonderful Inspectorate Team who are out in the field on a daily basis not only investigating cruelty cases but also rescuing animals who find themselves in difficult situations. We are so appreciative of their dedication.
