Farming shrimp under Viet GAP in Soc Trang province Soc Trang province, leading industrial shrimp farming region in Vietnam, made up 20% of total shrimp export turnover of the country. 51,000 household farmers in the locality are farming brackishwater shrimp. Local authorities are guiding farmers to rear shrimp under VietGAP to ensure safe shrimp products with high quality to meet requirements of the importing markets. Besides, authorities focus on planing farming areas and transfering advanced technologies to develop shrimp farming sustainably, intensifying link between farmers and processors.
