Fatal road traffic collision Co. Galway Gardai in Loughrea are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred near Kilreekil this evening (19/7/2013). At approximately 5 p.m. a collision involving three cars occurred on the R446 near the village of Kilreekil. The driver of one of the cars, a woman aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a second car, a woman aged in her 30s, was taken by ambulance to University College Hospital Galway. (Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.) The occupants of a third car did not require hospital treatment. The road is currently closed to traffic and Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene.
