Father God, give me the strength to seize the moment and live the life today that will please you and bless others. Help my heart feel the urgency of today and act with boldness, kindness, and salvation instead of worrying so much about what may happen tomorrow or next week. Give me the immediacy of the moment I see in your sons ministry when he walked the earth. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. PROVERBS 27:1 ~Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.~ When I was growing up, I heard from our churchs elders to always say “Lordwilling” about something that we were planning to do. It was something that they always did, so it was just part of the speech. As I got older I actually realized just how appropriate it was to say before planning something! God wants His children to keep Him at the center of all things in our lives….even our plans. Furthermore, He expects us to be flexible about our plans for He may need to change them for our own good! When He does this our response should be accepting, not resentful and bitter that we did not get our own way. He created us and therefore always know what is the very best for us, the question is do we trust Him? Romans 12:1 will be my life verse, it says, “Therefore I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship.” If one wants to truly enjoy Christianity, this verse must be obeyed. It is only when we submit ourselves to God and His plans for us that we are really free and can enjoy the peace, joy, and contentment that only He can give through His indwelling Holy Spirit! Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” This our promise from God that He only plans and desires the best for us even though it may not look like the best to us at the time. He sees the entire span of our lives from beginning to end and knows the correct path for us to take. So when circumstances are less than desirable in life, or maybe even tragic, Lord help us to keep our eyes fixed on Christ and know in our hearts that He has a good plan for us at all times. God will never abandon us (Hebrews 13:5), for we are His blood bought children and He loves us more than we will ever fully know!
