Father, Son Responsible For Bhat And Guroo’s Hanging: Kashmir’s Geelani =>Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani called complete shutdown on February, 9, 10 and 11, to demand the return of mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guru. Holding main stream politicians responsible for the execution of Bhat and Guroo, Geelani said that Dr Farooq Abdullah paved the way for the murder of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat by signing his execution order while Omar Abdullah relied on white lies in case of Afzal Guroo and vindicated the act of his father. “There is no weight in the claim of Omar Abdullah that he was not taken into confidence before the Guroo was executed while the fact is that Central Government sought his suggestions. Omar advised Central Government to hang Guroo before the Tourist Season gets affected,” Geelani claimed. Geelani said that thousands of people have laid their lives for the ongoing “sacred movement but the martyrdom of Bhat and Guroo” stands tall and unique in the annals of Kashmir History. “The duo were executed for seeking their rights and freedom from the bondage and the height of tyranny is that their mortal remains were returned to their families,” Geelani said. He said the way the bodies of the Bhat and Guroo were buried in the premises of Tihar Jail has exposed the hollow democratic setup of India. “Government of India murdered two of our beloveds and it has proved that justice is always strangulated in India and there is no permanent institution of Justice prevailing in this country,” he said. “People of Kashmir still wait for the return of mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat. Thirty years before he was executed and on February 9, 2013, Muhammad Afzal Guroo was murdered, people protested for months but government did not budge and instead killed innocent protestors who were pressing for the return of his mortal remains,” the statement added.
