Fathers Day is this weekend. I dare say that we have some fantastic moms on our staff at the Bangor Police Department. I would also say that we have more Dads than Moms and I do this using only an abacus and a keen eye for details. We have some great fathers here and amongst them are step dads, god fathers, grandfathers and adoptive dads. One of the cool things about being a cops kid is that when you do get to go to the station, you know that someone will be helpful and share a story or two about your father and that you can then take it home to mother and alter the way dads Saturday afternoon will go, or...Dad will buy ice cream to guarantee your silence. Its all good and all in good fun. Those of us that have had a great dad are thankful and those of us that are dads and even more thankful. It is a gift. When they threw me the keys to the ignition of Facebook they said no politics and dont make the Chief or the City Manager angry. This video from a soap manufacturer is great and I am not advocating purchase of any product. However, the filmaker hit it on the head and when I saw it this week I knew I wanted to post it before the weekend. IF...this does cause them to take away my posting rights I already have a plan. I have a black Sharpie and some poster board and I will be setting up an easel on I-95 Northbound at Mile marker 182. If it rains and the ink runs, you will just have to slow down to read it. Winning..... IF you are lucky enough to have a dad give him a hug and if you are a dad, make sure to hug your kid. Happy Fathers Day..from all the Dads at B.P.D.
