Fathers, Dont Let Your Daughters Grow Without You More women than men are insecure. Dig a little deep if time allows and you will discover a chasm in the formative years. The main source of this gap being the absence, physical or psychological, of the fathers in their lives. With the father absent, there is room for unfounded fears leading to self doubt and the journey to find who they are. Once, while traveling from Mzuzu, I saw a beautiful baby with her mum. She was so pretty. I sat there and let my mind think about her growing up in todays world where we as humanity seem to have our priorities upside down. What will become of the little girl is something we can all hazard precious guesses at. I wanted the little girl to know that she beautiful. But it wasnt my place to tell her that. The right persons to say it are the parents. And that brings me to the point of writing this long post. Fathers, dont let your daughters grow up without you; your assuring presence and love. I cringe to think about the difficulties place on all of us men who will at some point date or even marry your daughters. You see, its like we have to do your work for you. We have to build the womans confidence from scratch. Its not easy to teach confidence to a grown up woman. Its not easy to assure her that her lips are okay, her breasts are the right size, her spiky hair is no issue and her dark skin is beautiful. What we end up with is a girl in a womans body. And no one needs that! If only fathers were around their baby girls, if only they got that hug from their fathers and that kiss from their mothers, if only... Wait... Daughters are the mothers of tomorrow. They are the canvas on which tomorrows society will be painted. And so it is only proper that fathers should be present in the lives of their daughters. #LOOking
