Favorite Maine writers? I am teaching a Maine Writers course - TopicsExpress

Favorite Maine writers? I am teaching a Maine Writers course in spring. I know I want to have books that address Maine as a particular type of place. Well read Paul Doiron and Kate Flora (both mysteries), but the rest is fairly open. I would like to get a range of perspectives on contemporary Maine, and would love to have the books not be wholly full of white people. Any and all ideas welcome, including ideas for Maine writers who write in other genres than full length novels, such as short stories, film or graphic novels. Likely focus on story/fiction, not non-fiction or memoir. Katrina Ray-Saulis, Greg Tulonen, Joanne Tulonen, Sejal Shah, Meredith Finn, Julie Finn, and anyone else among my friends who might have read Maine writers they like or have ideas of what they would seek for balance in teaching.
