Fayette Co. surveyor to resign Anonymous Rushville Republican The Rushville Republican Fri Sep 13, 2013, 02:50 AM EDT Jerry L. Gobin, longtime Fayette County Surveyor, has submitted his resignation to Governor Mike Pence. The resignation is effective Dec. 31, 2013. Gobin has been under investigation by the Indiana State Police and the Rush County Prosecutor’s Office, which was appointed as a special prosecutor earlier this year to oversee the investigation. That investigation concerned allegations that Gobin committed ghost employment and official misconduct by using the resources of the Fayette County Surveyor’s Office (including employees, time and equipment) for his own private surveyor’s business.
