Faythes Day 2: All in all I guess what can be expected from a surgery of that duration. Experiencing a lot of pain and considerable swelling around the neck and trach site. We did accomplish the first walk around the ICU station so progress of getting her moving. Sure wish I was better at reading lips... Until they deflate the trach cuff and the site heals, she has no voice at all.. But when they let the balloon down we will see how her whisper was affected. Possibly move out of ICU over the weekend to regular oncology floor. Thanks for continued prayers.. We have a birthday banner but today is not going to go down as Faythes best birthday ever!! 35 years ago I was blessed by this wonderful daughter... :-)
