Fear grips Ekiti governor as poll gives Fayose slight edge in forthcoming election Officials of the Governor Kayode Fayemi campaign organisation are in panic mode following the release of two polls that indicate the governor may lose the forthcoming election to his main challenger, Ayo Fayose. The result of the poll signed by Atedo Peterside, the President and Founder of ANAP Foundation, yesterday, in Abuja, indicated that the current Governor of the State, Kayode Fayemi and Ayo Fayose, have just two percent point gap between each other. The poll showed that, Ayo Fayose led the list of candidates with 31 percent, while Kayode Fayemi had 29 percent. Mr Bamidele Opeyemi trailed at a third position with 3 percent; while Mr. Kola Ajayi received no votes. “However, 37 percent of those polled are undecided as to their choice of candidate; and it is believed this proportion of voters would be critical in deciding who eventually wins the coveted seat. The poll was, however, quickly dismissed by the John Kayode Fayemi (JKF) Campaign Organisation. “The result of the voodoo exercise does not reflect and cannot be reflective of the realities of an administration that has delivered on its promises through good and impactful governance during its first term in office,” campaign spokesman Dimeji Daniels said. “We hereby urge Ekiti people to be vigilant. We wish to state categorically that NOI Polls is nothing but an acronym for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Polls, the real owner of the company who is Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy.” “Our people would recall that the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the national level has indeed challenged Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to publicly deny her ownership of the company. Expectedly, she has kept mum on the matter. We again reiterate that challenge.
