Feb 7 2013 my sister shared a Facebook post from a local cat rescue. A womans brother had a cat he couldnt keep. If a home wasnt found within a week, he was going to take to the SPCA. That particular one was known to be a high kill shelter. Id been toying with the idea of getting another cat for a while, but my sister kept reminding me that I had a good family unit with the three girls I already had. She didnt say that this time. I immediately reached out to the person who had the cat and that same afternoon Jasmine came home to me. I wish I could say and we all lived happily ever after, but it wasnt going to be that easy. I tried to do all of the right things to introduce a new cat to resident cats. All of the right things dont take into account resident cats who havent read the instructions! The three residents just wouldnt cut her a break. I tried everything, pheromone sprays, essential oils and even a pet psychic. I did find out that she didnt like the name Jasmine because there person who had her would call her Jasmine, that damn cat, but she did like being called Jazzy.
