February 9th 2011 Muscat to get Kickworldwide Institute The Oman Football Association has signed a contract with Kickworldwide to consult on the delivery of a Kickworldwide Institute in Muscat. Representatives from the Oman FA were in Pune to attend the launch of the Institute in India in the summer of 2010 and were deeply impressed by the concept. Kickworldwide has since been working with Keith Wyness (formerly the Chief Executive of Everton Football Club) who is currently advising the Oman FA on a range of football issues, including the development of their football infrastructure. Oman take their football very seriously and under the stewardship of Khalid Bin Hamman Al Bu Saidi are making great strides in the world game. The Kickworldwide Institute will form part of an exciting new commercial/leisure development and will see Oman become one of the movers and shakers for football in the Middle East as well as creating new education and career opportunities for young Omani’s. Kickworldwide’s Steve Bellis confirmed “We are delighted to have signed a contract with the Oman FA to deliver an Institute in Oman. There is clearly immense passion for football in Oman and the Institute will provide football mad Omani youngsters with the opportunity to attain qualifications and possibly careers in the football industry. Through this development, Muscat will become a real focal point for young people in the Middle East who are interested in a career on the industry of football, whether it be as a coach, referee, sports lawyer, physiotherapist or even a manager.” The Oman Institute is expected to commence delivery of courses early in 2012.
