Fecking poetry I hated it at school Whats happened Who changed the rule Silly rhymes about daffodils Something about tigers in the night I just did not want to know I wanted to take flight And Shakespeare God forbid How bloody stupid To teach a kid I couldnt understand a thing It was absolutely absurd Why did they shove it down my throat Every letter every word But as time passed me by Their was a change so subtle At first I did not notice it A slow realisation bubble In an emotional turmoil I wrote a rhyme to ease the pain It worked just a little And some pleasure I did gain Books of poems where bought I now have many on my shelves And I derive great pleasure As into them I often delve Fecking poetry I love it Its a thread through my life Wether writing or reading It helps to ease strife
