Feel terrible. Accidentally peed on the cat this morning. Leonard the Cat was a rescue, abandoned along with his siblings in a locked crate in a mall parking lot on a brutal 100° day. Nearly died of dehydration. Consequently, hes obsessed with water & will sprint from wherever he is whenever he hears the bathroom door latch. Not a big deal when he wants to jump in the shower or sink when Im using them, but can be awkward when using…well…the other fixture, so Im usually very careful to pinpoint his location before I close the bathroom door. Didnt see him follow me into the bathroom this morning at 6:45am. Shortly after I began, a little grey head appeared between my knees to peer over the edge of the toilet. Tried to stop. Too late. Damage done. Washed & dried his little head. He didnt like that much, either. Leonard got a whole can of tuna to himself afterward. Not sure he understood the correlation, but it made ME feel a little better. Probably better if he doesnt understand the cause-effect relationship. Otherwise, hed be diving into the toilet every morning.
