Feeling a bit overwhelmed. When I got home I took my 5 month old - TopicsExpress

Feeling a bit overwhelmed. When I got home I took my 5 month old pup out front on her leash so she could go potty. She was just spayed so Im trying to keep her activity to a minimum till she heals. As she was sniffing around the man across the street dropped something in his garage which scared Misty. I tried getting her attention with a treat and command but she wasnt having anything to do with it. I managed to get her to sit and calm down and once she realized everything was ok we began our walk down the street. We got 2 houses away when another neighbor came out of his house slammed the door and started yelling at his kids. This sent Misty over the edge. She was frantically jumping and pulling backwards on the leash in order to escape. I could not get her attention nor could I get her to break the flight mode. We returned home and she went and laid near her water bowl. I thought it best to give her space and I prepared both of the pups dinner. She ate some, then back to her corner. I could not coax her out with a treat nor a toy. After an hour or so I decided to forego her solitary training in the park for a walk in the neighborhood with my older girl. She felt confident with her sissy and they played with a stick and approached another dog being walked. I took them to a slightly busier road and she had no problem with the passing loud vehicles. Our walk was a total of 20 minutes and went well until we returned to our street. The wind had kicked up a bit and a flag on a flagpole started blowing loudly in the wind and set her off. Full panic mode and nothing. Once we got home she went to her corner again. I feel as if she is getting worse in spite of my efforts implementing the methods the trainer has been working with us on.....
