Feeling big time grateful today. 4am Thanksgiving morning and Osvaldo and I are firing up the smoker and a 1/4 pipe nipple on the gas valve cracks completely off with the threads inside. Two 25lb turkeys and a 30lb full leg ham are waiting. Thank you Virgen Santa Catalina, thank you Lena Brock and thank you Jesus On The Mainline. Virgin De Santa Catalina for our belief in miracles and thanks to my mom Lena Brock for teaching me to never, never, ever give up and to always get it done. And thank you Jesus for being On The Mainline when we called to tell you what we wanted. We got out my trusty little soldering iron for fixing instrument cables and with our shaky hands and some divine help we layered up enough solder to reconstruct the pipe strong enough to hold together and seal it. The smoker is fired up with gas and wood; ham is in the smoker and the turkeys are about to be stuffed.
