Feeling like an old reflective musician at the moment. Im at a rock show that I brought Nathan Michael to because his friend was in the band. While I was watching their sound check, Im reminded of the gigs Ive had here 6 - 10 years ago. My last show with Matthew Scrivens and Benjamin Scrivens. The same place as my debut death metal gig a couple years later. Some pretty good times in this dive. Ive come such a long way since then. Ive grown musically and perhaps talent-wise. I guess its good to stop sometimes where youre at and look behind you to evaluate and adjust. Im proud of the musical strides Ive made in the 20+ years I first picked up an instrument. And I know the Lord aint thru with me yet! I had always dreamed when I first started out of making it. And I feel like I have....just not according to my barometer of success but in His instead! I am humbled by my past and am enthusiastic of my future!! Now excuse me....I have to put my earplugs in now and watch high school kids try to play metal.
