Feeling lonely and sad tonight. When mama was with us, Lee and I would already be in Belvidere eating a very good dinner of dried beef gravy on boiled potatoes, spinach, onions in vinegar, homemade biscuits and pineapple pie for dessert. Our deerhunting gear would be out in the shed so the smells in the house would be kept from them. Mama and I would be watching the cars streaming into Belvidere and Lee and I would have made our trip up to Tallmans store to visit a minute with Hughie and Myrna. When we returned a game or three of Scrabble would happen as Lee watched one of his sports tapes in the living room. About eight oclock wed head upstairs to get some sleep because three in the morning comes quickly. Memories can be wonderful but tonight, memories leave me with a heart that aches for days gone by and gone forever. Just remember me in a little prayer tonight please. I appreciate it.
