Feeling numb. I learned this afternoon that one of my oldest and dearest friends, John Fletcher, lost his wife last night, suddenly and unexpectedly. I am grief stricken for him and his young son, Omar, as they try to make sense of this incomprehensible event. It is my hope that in the days and weeks and years to come, I can offer him comfort and solace as he makes his way. I am grateful that coincidence allowed me to speak with Minna on Monday for the first time in several years. This year has been filled with trial and tribulation, yet it has taught me that the love that we share with one another has the power to soothe and heal the wounds that life has in store for us all. Rest in peace Minna...
