Fello citizens of our great country,It might interest you to know that over the years our country has experienced peaceful co-existence.I remeber vivdly the past few decades when we were inexplicably bonded together as one people and a great nation. once upon a time people could move freely and interract with one another admisibly, the standard of living was drastically improved, rate of unemployment and joblessness was brought to a bearest minimum. As a matter of fact, every aspect of the Economy received a great boost.Take for instance, the Agricultural, educational and power sector were transformed by resourceful hands. Our Economy was fast growing to the extent that it attracted umpteen foreign investors who exquisitely transmogrificated the Economy. There was nothing like insurgence or terror because peace and orderliness was pervasive. Now,it is conspicous that Nigeria of those days is far more better than the Nigeria of this present age. Those in the helm of affairs are gradually plunging our country into chaos, they pay us lip service by preaching peace but have a kitchen carbinet who do nothing but spoiling for war.If i call them sycophants,i may not be mistaken because they play to the gallery with what i call strategic political rhetorics. The poor masses can no longer air their minds in the society since our system of government has been changed from Democracy to what i refer to as a dastard and fiendish plutocracy. The most corrupt people are now parading and masquerading themselves as leaders expending what would have been judiciously utilized for the benefit of the masses. The dick and harries are now living in ostracism and subjected to abject penury for no justifiable reason. It is eggregious that the so called average Nigerian can barely afford a square meal due to the poor standard of living in the country. My good people it is pitiable, regretible, repugnant, obnoxious, ridiculous and lugubrious that a vast majority of our leaders and political party holders live as sybarites while the masses are engulfed with poverty. How can we move forward in a stalemated Economy? At this point let me zero in on an aspect that is gradually ravaging and annihilating the country, whichis insurgence. The issue of insurgence has indeed sabotaged the entire nation, crime and terror is on the rampage, the worst part of it all is that our leaders has vehemently refused to do anything in that regard, all we get are sugar coated empty promises which has exacerbated the situation rather than profering a lasting solution. A statistical data shows that the islamist sect popularly known as the Boko Haram have taken over three-quarter of borno state with properties worth billions of naira being destroyed and lives of innocent citizens wasted for selfish reasons. To what end do we have to live in despondence and devastation?. Our leaders claim the country is suffering from Economic recession which has left the country in a poor financial status, yet some unscruplous, malevolent and heinous leaders use our resouces to fund some group of twits, vagabonds and riff-raffs whose objective is to kill the poor masses and destroy their properties.I suppose our leaders are there to protect and defend our rights as citizens, why then have they chosen to inflict pain and agony on us?.!Enough is Enough! Time to act is now,it is either we fight the corruption that is scavenging our country or postpone the doom for our posterity. All hands must be on deck to ensure that a capable and eligible leader is elected, who is willing to work assiduosly in the interest of the populace. It is pointless at this stage to dwell on religious considerations to vote a credible leader into power. permit me to say that am not being judgemental or hypocritical neither am i by any means taking sides, all i solicit for is a leader capable of mitigating and eradicating the poverty level in the country and putting a smile once again on the faces of the masses.A leader who will stop @ nothing until this country becomes peaceable, crime and corruption free and amongst the fastest growing economy in the globe. Therefore i call on Co-operate Organisations,Stakeholders in every sector of the Economy,NGOs,Tycoons,Compatriots, afficionados, expatriates and well meaning Nigerians who love this country to come out in their numbers as we go to the polls to exercise our franchise come February 14th 2015.Let me also use this medium to plead with the youths of this nation to expostulate anybody who is capable of influencing them negatively to wreck havoc and cause chaos on the day of the election. Please do not sell your intergrity for paltry but rather stay true to whom you are, there is no gain in violence let us allow peace thrive. I advise that we put aside our religious and ethnic affiliations and vote for Accountability,Credibility,Equity and Transparency. By and large i urge all of you who mean well for this country whether christian or muslim and even those in the diaspora to keep praying for Nigeria so that the elections will be violent free and so that peace will reign during and after the exercise. God bless the president of the Federal Republic of Nigerian, God bless fellow citizens of this great country, God bless Nigeria... signed:-MAGBO SOLOMON IKECHUKWU
