Fellow parents, please let me know if youd like to join my friend Shannon Turner in our efforts to give this holiday season. Her post: please pass it on! Every commercial in regards to toys, clothes, whatever it may be...my kids say I want that for Christmas mom! or Your buying that for Christmas for me yeah dad? They are just too expectant for gifts....& by the way, dont take any care of it once they get it...no consideration of how long we had to go to work to buy it. Smh Recently we were in town running errands & took notice to sadly, how many homeless children there is....Anyway, this year me & Neva decided wed like to teach them the significance of Christmas & Thanksgiving & more importantly, the gift of giving. Neva came up with the idea of having them pick out some toys at the store & helping to wrap/bag/box it & then pass them out to homeless children downtown. dont get me wrong, my kids will have a Christmas & gifts themselves but wed like to teach them how important it is to give rather than receive and also how fortunate and blessed they are! Just throwing it out there....no final date yet but...would anyone like to join us in making a difference for the holidays ? Lmk.
