Feminism is important because I shouldnt have to be afraid to walk down the street by myself due to honking, clapping, or cat-calling. Its a huge safety issue and if I dont turn around and give a small smile you will turn aggressive and may end up becoming violent. I am a person that should be respected and treated as such instead of an object because of a gender I did not choose. I want the same opportunities with the same benefits as men and Ill be damned if by the time Im 30 I do not get them. Feminism/Feminist is not a bad or scary word.
