Few comments : A) AAP is becoming a national party. As Left declines and CPI / CPM is likely to lose national party status, their committed cadre and voter base might completely move to AAP. Ignoring or taking them lightly will be dangerous. B) Tie ups where BJP is junior destroyes BJP. TDP and Akali Dal are good examples. Best to fight independently with any partners coming only in junior position. C) Punjab is very worrying spot. Akalis have not done a great job, there is again a rise of extremism, BJP organisation is in shambles. Rise of AAP is basically occupying a space that BJP should have done. Why did BJP not push for punishment in 1984 riots. D) This election was won for BJP by Sangh cadre. Sure it couldnt have happened if Na Mo was not there. But you need the organisation to go door to door. Sangh working for BJP is an aberration, not a norm. In Delhi at least, and likely at other places as well, BJP organisation is in shambles. E) BJP emerging as second largest party in Bengal shows how serious the Bangladeshi Muslim problem is becoming. And this is when Sangh work in Bengal is not as dense as in say Kerala, BJP itself was not taking Bengal as seriously as it should have. In Feb or so, I spoke to the WB head of a social organisation lead by a Guruji with huge following. This Gurujis followers had worked for NaMo nationally. He was clear that as per their own internal survey, 10-12 seats were there where BJP had a fighting chance due to Hindu polarisation. Yet BJP itself was not working seriously in more than 5-6 seats. F) Someone who can only focus on building the BJP organisation is must. Today, in slums of Delhi, AAP cadre are helping slum guys get hospital admissions, get ration cards... For how long will BJP see the slum votes go from Congress to BSP to AAP but not to itself. Where is the structure to create party cadre and engage them. G) AAPs Mohalla Sabha is a model straight from the padas of Kolkatta. If they get it executed, BJP can forget entry in Delhi. Very important to prevent AAP emergence in Delhi for stopping them nationally. Kejriwal should be reduced to Jantar Mantar Dharna boy.
