Few thoughts on the SCMM Mumbai 1) there were not enough volini aid stations which was surprising considering that volini were one of the sponsors; 2) the best live music band was the one at mahim machimar colony followed by the navy music band at marine drive. in fact there were not many live music bands on the route. Procam should take a leaf from Vasai Virar organisers for this; 3) The cheering brigade as usual was very good and so was the buffet spread; 4) The post race arrangements for collection of snacks/ race medals leave a lot to be desired; 5) The quality of snacks could have been improved; 6) Whosever idea to ask the runners to climb a ramp to go into azad maidan is either moron or idiot or both; 7) The entrance arrangements could have been better - there was only one scanner to scan the bags and there was a huge queue building up; 8) There was a lot of dust bins this time but people were still throwing things on the road, which is very sad; 9) Runners were still throwing almost full water bottles after taking only a sip or two from it. 10) Water was available in plenty all the way until the finish line until the time I crossed it; 11) The Mumbai Police arrangements on traffic control was world class and the patience of Mumbaikars to wait for runners to pass through is also immense. This is just to highlight to Procam the improvements needed not to criticise the event management, which is a huge task taking care of 40,000 runners. Anybody wants to add please feel free to do so.
